Pablo Torre, a well-known sports journalist and host of the podcast Pablo Torre Finds Out, recently uncovered a major story about the NFL and NFLPA.

He revealed an alleged cover-up involving a 61-page arbitration document that suggests the NFL encouraged teams to limit player contracts, while the NFLPA helped keep it secret.

Behind Pablo Torre’s hard-hitting journalism is his wife, Elizabeth Doherty.

Elizabeth and Pablo Torre tied the knot on November 5, 2016, in Brooklyn, New York, in a ceremony attended by notable figures like ESPN’s Tony Reali and NFL star Aaron Rodgers.

Pablo Torre and Mike Florio Reveal Secret NFL Ruling Sparking Collusion Concerns And Questions About NFLPA Transparency!

In a June 2026 episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out, Torre, alongside Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, a hidden 61-page arbitration ruling from January 2026.

The document originated from a grievance filed by the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) against the NFL, alleging collusion by the league to reduce guaranteed money in player contracts.

This issue started after the Cleveland Browns gave quarterback a fully guaranteed $230 million contract in 2026, which upset many NFL owners.

The ruling, written by arbitrator Christopher Droney, found that the NFL Management Council, with approval from Commissioner Roger Goodell, encouraged all 32 NFL teams to cut back on guaranteed contracts during a March 2026 owners’ meeting.

However, Droney ruled in the NFL’s favor, saying there wasn’t enough proof that teams followed through on this advice.

Despite this, Torre’s report showed private texts, emails, and testimony from NFL figures like Goodell, quarterbacks Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, and Russell Wilson, and several owners, revealing a coordinated effort to limit player earnings.

Shockingly, Torre discovered that the NFLPA, which is supposed to protect players, worked with the NFL to keep this document secret.

One reason was that former NFLPA president JC Tretter sent texts insulting Russell Wilson, calling him a “wuss” and blaming him for hurting the push for guaranteed contracts.

These texts, revealed during the arbitration, embarrassed the NFLPA, leading them to hide the ruling to avoid public backlash.

Torre’s reporting exposed this unusual alliance between the league and the players’ union, raising questions about trust and transparency in the NFL.
