The Chesterfield community is mourning the loss of Logan Michael Wilhelm, a vibrant 17-year-old whose life was tragically cut short on June 21, 2026.
Born on March 12, 2008, in East China Township, Logan was a soon-to-be senior at Anchor Bay High School, known by his peers and teachers for his kind heart, athleticism, and love of music.
Though his time here was brief, Logan left a lasting mark on the lives of those lucky enough to know him.
Logan Wilhelm Had A Passion For Sports And Music
Logan Wilhelm was a high school athlete and also a musician.
He was often seen strumming his guitar, creating music that reflected his thoughtful spirit.
Whether he was playing alone or entertaining loved ones, his passion for sound brought joy to those around him.
He also had a deep love for the outdoors. Logan cherished family trips, hiking adventures, and moments spent under the open sky.
Logan Wilhelm Was A Beloved Son, Brother, And Friend
Logan is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Heather Wilhelm, and his sister, Elena Wilhelm, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond.
He also leaves behind his grandparents, Bill and Sue Currier, and Kristine Wilhelm, as well as a large, close-knit extended family, along with many cousins and dear friends.
Moreover, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Wilhelm, and uncle Richard Wilhelm.
“To say that Logan will be missed is an understatement. Logan’s life, though brief, was a testament to the impact one person can have on the world.”
A funeral service to honor Logan’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Starville Church in Marine City, Michigan.
Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., and he will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery.
The family kindly suggests that memorials be directed to them as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

New Baltimore Police Has Clarified The Facts
Following Logan’s passing, misinformation began circulating online, linking his death to an incident at the Anchor Bay Bay-Rama Festival.
The New Baltimore Police Department addressed the situation directly:
“The death of an Anchor Bay student is unrelated to the fight at Bay-Rama and happened in Chesterfield Township. We are saddened to learn of the death and are keeping the family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
