Anderson University’s basketball player, Tate Ivanyo’s mother, Kristie Farrell Ivanyo, attended Andrean High School.
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) recognized Anderson University men’s basketball student-athlete Tate Ivanyo as the 2026-25 HCAC Athlete of the Year for men’s sports on Wednesday, June 11, 2026.
With the HCAC, Tate as the Men’s Basketball Player of the Year, a unanimous First-Team All-Conference selection, a member of the All-Tournament team, and a two-time Athlete of the Week.
On the national stage, he received the topmost individual honor in Division III basketball, as he was named the 2026 Jostens Trophy winner.
He was also selected as the CSC Academic All-America Men’s Basketball Team Member of the Year.
Tate was an NABC First-Team All-American, NABC District 8 Player of the Year, D3hoops.com Fifth-Team All-American and Team of the Week member, NABC DIII All-Star, and NABC First-Team All-Region.
Tate Ivanyo’s Parents Supported Him In Achieving His Basketball Dreams
Born in Valparaiso, Indiana, Tate Ivanyo was raised by his father, Ed, and his mother, Kristie Farrell Ivanyo.
They supported Tate in achieving his basketball dreams. Their support has paid off, as Tate was named the 2026 Jostens Trophy winner and the 2026-25 HCAC Athlete of the Year.

Kristie was born to her father, , a biology teacher at Emerson High School. Richard served as a Podiatrist for 25 years in Merrillville and Gary Indian before retiring in Florida.
Tragically, Richard passed away on September 17, 2026, at 78.
On the other hand, Tate’s father, Ed Ivanyo, served as a math teacher and principal at Boone Grove Elementary in Indiana.
According to the school’s , he holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Indiana University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Ball State University.
Tate Ivanyo Grew Up With His One Sister And One Brother
Tate Ivanyo has one sister, Lexi Ivanyo, and one brother, Ty Ivanyo.
Lexi recently graduated from Purdue University with a nursing degree.
She took to her Instagram handle and shared of her graduation ceremony with the caption,

On the other hand, Tate’s brother, Ty, is a 6-foot guard who played basketball at Morgan Township High School in Valparaiso, Indiana, and graduated in 2026.
Throughout , he consistently held the guard position and wore jersey #4.
He was a key contributor to the Morgan Township JV baseball team, helping lead them to a solid 14-8 overall record and a 4-3 conference finish, playing in the 4th position.
Currently, he is a bachelor’s degree in finance at Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management.
