His skills caught the eye of scouts, but Tyler chose to hone his craft at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where he played for the VCU Rams.
His college career was a springboard to the pros, and in 2026, the Seattle Mariners selected him with the 58th overall pick in the Major League Baseball draft.
