Athlete William “Will” McAloon, 16, Passes Away, Leaving His Parents Melissa And Mark Behind!

William “Will” McAloon, a 16-year-old from Rothesay, New Brunswick, tragically passed away on May 29, 2026, at his family’s home.

Will McAloon is survived by his parents, Melissa and Mark McAloon, his twin brother, Lucas McAloon, and his elder sister, Jessie.

His father, Mark, is the CEO and Founder of The Smart Energy Company. Originally from Rothesay, New Brunswick, Mark went to Kennebecasis Valley High School.

Mark and Melissa, the married couple of 20 years, have yet to break their silence on the tragic demise of their son.

He also leaves behind his grandparents, Pat, Bill, Greg, and Judy; his uncles, Joe and Jeff; his aunts, Julie and Lisa; and his cousins, Alex, Mark, Nick, Sophie, Anna, Maddy, Stella, Jack, and Jonah.

McAloon’s best friend, Brady, and Brady’s family also held a special place in his life. Whereas Will McAloon was predeceased by his uncle, Mike McAloon.

His uncle,, Co-CEO at The Smart Energy Company, expressed his grief via Facebook, which reads:

Our hearts are broken. Please hug your loved ones tightly. My nephew Will was an exceptional young man whose smile would light up an entire room and I just can’t believe he’s gone. There are no words.

Jeff McAloon

Born on June 9, 2008, in Saint John Regional Hospital, was a bright and joyful teenager who brought happiness to everyone around him.

An active and adventurous young man, Will loved spending time outdoors with his father and brother.

He enjoyed four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, and making trails. At home, he had fun playing pool, card games, and puzzles with his family, as well as watching movies with plenty of candy.

Will was also a fan of video games and enjoyed spending time with his friends, often getting into playful mischief.

Above all, Will lived life to the fullest and always tried to make others smile.

Reportedly, a visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John.

During this ordeal, words can’t do justice to what his family is going through. We offer our heartfelt condolences to his parents, twin brother, sister, friends, and extended family.
