Avantae Williams, a former safety for the Miami Hurricanes, who was recently arrested in connection with a murder case, also faced legal trouble in 2026 for allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend.

The once-promising football star Avantae Williams has yet again found himself making headlines with his arrest surrounding the second-degree murder charges.

However, besides his recent murder charge, two records of Williams’ arrest have been documented.

In 2026, Williams was arrested in Orange County, Florida, on charges of burglary, robbery, aggravated battery with a firearm, and petit theft.

According to the arrest report, the incident involved a woman who had invited Williams to her residence.

After a sexual interaction, Williams left but later returned, accusing the woman of stealing $800 from him, which led to the alleged crimes.

Similarly, another incident was related to domestic violence involving his former girlfriend, who was 31 weeks pregnant at the time.

Former Athlete Avantae Williams’ Ex-Girlfriend Accused Him Of Hurting Her After An Argument!

In July 2026, Williams was arrested on domestic violence charges following an argument with his then-girlfriend, who was 31 weeks pregnant at the time.

They had been living together for four months at the time of the incident, but their romantic relationship had ended, as reports addressed her as his “ex-girlfriend.”

According to police reports, the woman alleged that Williams had hurt her after an argument, even after knowing she was expecting.

Reports suggest that Avantae Williams and his then-girlfriend argued over his involvement with another woman. During the dispute, he reportedly her, “You need to leave before I get back from practice.”

He allegedly grabbed her by the hair and threw her onto the bed and the ground, before she contacted a neighbour and called 911.

The woman was taken to a hospital for evaluation, and reports state she suffered multiple bruises to her arms and a minor bruise to her neck.

However, she later took back her statement, denying the allegations.

His then-girlfriend basically said she was upset and emotionally distressed when she initially spoke to authorities.

Later on August 20, 2026, the Miami State Attorney’s Office dropped the charges against Williams, citing the lack of cooperation from the alleged victim. She stated she didn’t feel threatened by Williams or believe he would harm her or her unborn child.

Speaking out for the first time after the 2026 charges were dropped, Williams expressed relief and stressed his commitment to family. He said:

I’m just happy that it’s all over with, and I’m huge on family first and being there for my family and being a family man. I believe in women’s rights, so I’m just happy that it’s all over with now.

His attorney, Michael Etienne, focused on Williams’ desire to return to the University of Miami and resume his football career, saying:

We need to get him back into school playing a sport that he loves, and he wants to be back in school, and that’s a priority.

Williams agreed, stating, “Of course I would love to be a Hurricane again. I love the program, I love everything about the university.

That said, details surrounding his former girlfriend, including his recent relationship status, remain concealed.

Despite his hopes of returning to the field, Williams’ legal troubles have continued to cloud his future.

As Williams was dismissed from the football team following the 2026 case, he briefly joined the junior college ranks, playing for Garden City Community College in Kansas in 2026.

In seven games, he recorded 27 tackles and an interception.

His performance proved his potential, which made him a high-profile recruit. However, yet again, legal issues held his career back when in 2026, Williams faced another arrest in Orange County, Florida, on charges including burglary and aggravated battery.

Following this, Williams later transferred to the University of Maryland in 2026, seeking a fresh start with the Terrapins. However, his time at Maryland was short-lived, as he did not see significant playing time and left the program before the 2026 season.

Recently, Avantae Williams was for second-degree murder after allegedly shooting a man dead at McCabe’s Bar in DeLand, FL, on May 3, 2026.
