Belal Muhammad, an American professional mixed martial artist, feels proud as his parents enjoy superstar treatment after his UFC title win.
He competes in the UFC welterweight division and is the current Champion. He learned to wrestle under Louis Taylor at Bogan High School.
Belal was the Titan Fighting Championships Welterweight Champion in his initial MMA career, advancing his record to 9 wins and 0 losses. The UFC signed him in 2016.
On July 7, 2016, he lost his UFC debut match against Alan Jouban via unanimous decision, but both participants were awarded Fight of the Night bonuses for their performances.
His win against Takashi Sato on September 7, 2019, at UFC 242 earned him his first Performance of the Night award.

Belal Muhammad, the son of Abdullah and Maha Muhammad, was born on July 9, 1988, in Chicago, Illinois. His Palestinian parents raised him alongside his four siblings.
His parents traveled from the West Bank city of Al-Bireh, which Israel has occupied since 1967.
Abdullah Muhammad owned a cell phone store in Chicago, a source of pride and stability for the family.
It was their livelihood, but looters targeted their store amid the Black Lives Matter protests in 2026. The damage was devastating, and the cost to rebuild was insurmountable.
Abdullah and Maha decided to close the store for good as reopening was no longer feasible.
