Kylie Crooks, a beloved 17-year-old volleyball player from Boyd County, Kentucky, tragically passed away on June 20, 2026.
As the report suggests, Kylie Crooks departed due to complications from a pulmonary embolism.
While some sources claim that on June 20, following an incident in Ashland.
The local authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her passing.
Kylie Crooks Had Just Graduated A Month Before Her Untimely Passing!
had a promising volleyball career that reflected her passion, leadership, and athleticism.
A recent 2026 graduate of BCHS, she was originally from Catlettsburg, Kentucky, and lived in Boyd, Kentucky.
She was a standout defensive specialist (DS) for the Class of 2026 at Boyd County High School.
As a part of the Class 2026, , helping Boyd County secure second place in District 4 with a 4-1 record.
Her performance helped the team earn a state ranking of #77, highlighting their competitive presence across Kentucky.
Additionally, she also competed with the Bluegrass Volleyball Academy (BVA) 17 BoCo team.
Coaches and teammates often described her as the heart of the team, someone who played not for accolades, but for the love of the game and her teammates.
On the other hand, her older sister, , was also an accomplished athlete.
She played collegiate softball at Kentucky Christian University (KCU), where she made a name for herself as a standout player.
Bri often spoke with pride about Kylie’s growth and dedication, and their bond extended beyond sports.
She was known not just for her skills on the court, but for the joy and encouragement she brought to everyone around her.
Kylie’s sudden passing has deeply shaken her family and the whole community.
The Bluegrass Volleyball Academy paid tribute to Kylie with a heartfelt message, saying:

As we begin Wave 3 of AAU Nationals, the girls of BVA 17 BoCo mourn the loss of their beloved teammate. We know that they will honor her life and legacy by playing in her memory.

Moreover, her parents, and Steve, are mourning the loss in private, struggling with the unimaginable pain of losing their beautiful daughter at just 17 years old.
