The Baltimore Orioles have made a major change after a rough beginning to the 2026 season. They have let go of manager Brandon Hyde following a 15-28 start.
Third base coach Tony Mansolino will now step in as the interim manager. Along with Hyde, field coordinator and catching instructor Tim Cossins was also relieved of his duties.
Orioles GM Mike Elias acknowledged the disappointing start and took accountability, saying the team needed a new direction to get back on track. While the decision wasn’t easy, the front office felt it necessary to change.
Hyde’s time in Baltimore included some big accomplishments.
He helped guide the team through a long rebuild, eventually leading to a 101-win season in 2026 and an AL East title.
The Orioles also made the playoffs again in 2026 with 91 wins. Before becoming the Orioles’ manager in 2019, Hyde was a bench coach with the Chicago Cubs.
Inside the Family Life of Former Orioles Manager Brandon Hyde
Regarding the former manager’s personal life, Lisa and Brandon met in 2003 at a barbecue during spring training in South Florida, set up by a local coach with the Florida Marlins.
They hit it off fast, went on a few dates, and married in 2006.

Lisa was married before and has a daughter named Aria DiLeo from that marriage, born in 2001.
Aria is Brandon’s stepdaughter, and she’s into horse riding and went to Syracuse University.
Lisa and Brandon have two kids together: a son named Colton, born in 2008, who plays baseball like his dad, and a daughter named Addison, born in 2010, who also rides horses.
Lisa is a private person. She stays out of the spotlight and shares little about her life or job.
She’s from New Jersey and has two sisters, Pamela and Lauren.
Pamela is married to Joe Espada, a baseball coach, which makes Joe and Brandon brothers-in-law.

Lisa supports Brandon’s career, often cheering him on at games with their kids. She’s known for being a great mom, raising their three kids while Brandon’s busy with baseball.
Sometimes, she teases Brandon about his game decisions in the car after games, but it’s all in fun.
They live a quiet life, mostly in Evanston, Illinois, when not in Baltimore.
Neither Lisa nor Brandon uses social media much, so there aren’t many details about their day-to-day.
She seems focused on family, supporting Brandon’s ups and downs in baseball, like when he won the AL Manager of the Year in 2026 or got fired by the Orioles in 2026 after a rough start.
