Deion Sanders, the head football coach at the University of Colorado-Boulder, has been gaining attention due to rumors that he lost his cousin.

The viral rumors claim that Deion Sanders lost his nine-year-old cousin, Noah Sanders, in a recent devastating flood at a Texas summer camp over the weekend.

While some believe the news to be trustworthy and express their heartfelt condolences to Deion Sanders and his family, many believe it to be fake.

One wrote, “This is a misunderstanding. His relative was not in the Texas floods.” Another added that the fake news sites are trying to make money off clicks and engagement, and spreading fake news.

Similarly, one revealed that it was the Kansas City Chiefs CEO, Clark Hunt, who lost his 9-year-old cousin, Janie Hunt, in the Texas flood and not Deion Sanders.

It is clear that Deion Sanders did not lose any family member in the Texas flood, and there is no public information confirming that he has a 9-year-old cousin named Noah. The only publicly known cousin of Deion Sanders is Junebug.

Deion Sanders Mentioned His Cousin, Junebug, As The Best Athlete He Has Even Seen

While there is no information about Deion Sanders having a cousin named Noah, back in 2026, on the podcast Pardon My Take, he mentioned his cousin Junebug, whom he regards as the best athlete he has ever seen in his life.

As the conversation initially centered on Bo Jackson, it quickly shifted to Deion Sanders’ cousin when he was asked if Bo Jackson was the most athletic person he had ever been on a field with.

In response, Deion Sanders mentioned his cousin Junebug, who, was a crackhead—but a good dude with exceptional athletic skills.

He further added:

“I couldn’t ever catch him, and he would sell it and I would have to get it back out the hood from the drug dealer, he was the most athletic, my cousin Junebug, but after that it was Bo.”

As Deion Sanders revealed about his athletic cousin, many were curious to know more about him, including details about his personal and professional life.

One of the stated that Junebug’s real name is Gus and his mother’s name is Kathy Duggerton, who raised him all by herself.

However, despite raising curiosity, Deion Sanders hasn’t shared much about his cousin’s personal and professional life.
