Tyler Corbitt, a former Clemson baseball player, is facing a tough battle after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer on July 17, 2026, at the age of 25.

In a short matter of time, Corbitt’s life changed suddenly, and now his days are filled with treatments and religious hospital visits.

Despite these challenges, he remains strong with strong willpower to overcome cancer.

Corbitt’s family created a campaign on July 16, 2026, to support his medical journey, helping them cover medical bills, travel costs, and other essential needs so that he can focus on his recovery.

The response to the campaign has been nothing overwhelming, with over 800 donations raising more than $77,000. The largest donation was $1000, and supporters include former Clemson baseball coach Monte Lee and teammates like Cooper Ingle.

Later, Tyler Corbitt took to his Facebook to express his gratitude for the overwhelming support, writing,

Thank y’all so much for all the love and support over the last few days.

Collegiate Baseball Player Tyler Corbitt Spent Three Seasons at Clemson After Transferring from The Citadel!

had an impressive college as a right-handed batter and pitcher, playing second base, left field, right field, and designated hitter for The Citadel and Clemson University.

Born on October 21, 1999, in Columbia, South Carolina, Corbitt began at The Citadel, where he played three seasons (2019-2026).

During his time at Citadel, Corbitt showcased his offensive talent with batting averages of .333 in 2019, .349 in 2026, and a remarkable .376 in 2026, achieving a career-high OPS of 1.024 in his final season there.

Transferring to Clemson for the 2026 and 2026 seasons, he continued to shine, hitting .290 with 11 home runs in 53 games in 2026 across multiple positions.

Unfortunately, injuries limited him to just 15 games in 2026, during which he batted .148. Over his five-year college career, Corbitt played 161 games, compiling a .319 batting average, 19 home runs, 89 RBIs, and 26 stolen bases.

He also had a brief stint in the Coastal Plain League in 2026 with the Lexington County Blowfish.

Beyond baseball, Corbitt has built a strong career in sales and energy management.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Tyler Corbitt has been working as the Sales Manager for Northeast Florida and the Georgia coast at Sunbelt Marketing Inc. since January 2026.

Before that, he gained valuable experience as a sales and energy broker during an internship at Santee Cooper in South Carolina.

Regarding his academic background, Corbitt holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Clemson University, following completion of a BBA from The Citadel.
