Emmerich Burdeshaw, who was deeply involved in both school sports and German folk dancing, passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of June 10, 2026, at the age of 14.
While the cause of his sudden passing has not been publicly disclosed, his death was described as unexpected and tragic.
Emmerich Burdeshaw Was An Exceptional Young Student-Athlete!
Burdeshaw was a 14-year-old student at Green Junior High School in Akron, Ohio. He was known for his kindness, humor, and dedication to academics and sports.
As an active athlete, participating in football, soccer, and wrestling, he had already begun making a name for himself in the local wrestling circuit.
He was also a member of the U14 boys team for GSA, as well as an active player for Green Soccer Academy. His determination and sportsmanship made him a standout among his peers.
Additionally, he was a talented dancer in the junior Jugendgruppe at the German Family Society of Akron.
Additionally, he was recognized for his outstanding academic performance and leadership among his peers.
His unexpected passing has deeply affected his family, friends, and community.
One of Emmerich’s friends remembered moments and memories with him, saying:
Emmerich is one of Christians friends at Junior Jugendgruppe at Akron German Family Society and were just hanging out together after practice there last Sunday evening. Hes one of the kids there that Christian always looked forward to seeing, hanging out and joking around with while there.
Moreover, the also released a statement, reflecting the admiration and respect Emmerich earned as an athlete and friend, saying:
It is with deep sorrow that we share the unexpected passing of Emmerich Burdeshaw, a cherished member of the Green Middle School wrestling team. Emmerich was a spirited teammate and fierce competitor, known for his kind heart, positive attitude, and dedication both on and off the mat.
Emmerich Burdeshaw is survived by his parents, Allison and Josh Burdeshaw, and his siblings, Karsten, Eva, and Juliana.
His grandmother, Hilda Rasnick, and his aunt, Erica Rasnick, are also among his close family members.
Additionally, his cousins, Maddie and Landon Davison, who were fellow Junior Youth dancers, are mourning his loss.
Furthermore, his loved ones remember him as a joyful, hardworking, and kind-hearted individual.
The school, sports teams, and cultural groups have expressed their grief, honoring his memory through tributes and support for his family.
In addition, a GoFundMe campaign “” has been set up to support Emmerich Burdeshaw’s family during this difficult time.
The fundraiser aims to help cover expenses related to his passing and provide financial assistance to his loved ones.
