The community is reeling from the heartbreaking news that Jenny Cavalier-Rodriguez, a beloved fitness instructor, personal trainer, and acro-dance coach, has passed away.
A pillar of strength and positivity in the Twin Cities wellness and gymnastics scene, Jenny’s loss leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was 48.
For over two decades, Jenny has dedicated herself to lifting others, both physically and spiritually.
From leading adult and children’s classes at Sila Wellness in Woodbury since 2013 to shaping young gymnasts at Park High School since 2003, Jenny became much more than an instructor.
She became a mentor, a friend, and a source of light in countless lives.
A proud graduate of Park High School herself and a lifelong Cottage Grove resident, Jenny never strayed far from home.
Tributes Have Poured In For The Beautiful Soul
Jenny’s sudden passing has sparked an outpouring of grief and gratitude on social media, where friends, clients, and former students have shared memories of her unshakable positivity and rare spirit.
One friend wrote,
“Jenny was more than a fitness instructor, she was a force. She had a rare ability to push you to your limits with a smile, even while fighting her own battles. As a wife, mother of four, and the heartbeat of our fitness community, Jenny carried more than most… and yet, she showed up every single day.”
Via FacebookAnother echoed the sentiment simply but powerfully:
“Love you Jenny. You will be so missed.”
Via FacebookOne message, filled with quiet heartbreak, read:
“Jenny was the kindest soul, and one of the first people to welcome me to Minnesota. I’m forever grateful for the many conversations we shared about life, our families, and her inspiring presence in the studio. I’m so, so sad.”

Jenny was known for her high-energy classes, contagious laughter, and a boldness that could make any newcomer feel like family.
Whether she was teaching toddlers how to tumble, leading adults through grueling workouts, or recently launching semi-private Acro classes this June, Jenny poured every bit of herself into others.
Her love of movement and health was matched only by her fierce devotion to her family.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Jim Rodriguez, and their four children, all of whom she adored and often spoke about with pride and joy.
