Harold Dean Fuge, of Troy, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, just days after celebrating his 89th birthday.

Born on August 1, 1936, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Samuel and Anna (Mosholder) Fuge, Harold led a life defined by unwavering love, deep faith, and tireless dedication to family, community, and country.

Those who knew Harold remember him as a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose kindness and strength left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

His presence radiated warmth, and his quiet wisdom often provided the steady anchor for the generations of family who surrounded him.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his son Doug Fuge, and his brother-in-law Al Karla.

He is by his loving wife, Ineke, and a large and close-knit family that includes siblings Marilyn (Al) Karla, Bonnie (Wendell) Berkey, Chuck (Helen) Fuge, and Cheryl (Jerry) Whysong.

He also leaves behind his children, Dennis (Pat) Fuge, Pam (Pat) Brown, and Flavia (Chris) Miller.

Harold’s pride in his growing family was evident in the joy he took from spending time with his grandchildren—Kory Zenz, Erika (Oscar) Fuge, Tricia (Zac) Clum, Jenna Fuge, Brandie (Ben) Hagedorn, Zachary Fuge, Halie (Dylan) Kennison, Kim (Brad) Deweese, Laura (Josh) Morton, Reagan (Tyler) Kennedy, and Lauren Fonner—and his beloved great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Mitchell, Lakyn, Aliza, Lydia, Arianna, Jude, Luna, Avonelle, Hadley, Autumn, Kensleigh, Sullivan, Everest, Amara, Antonio, and one more on the way.

From a young age, Harold displayed natural athletic ability. He captained his high school basketball, baseball, and football teams, proudly playing as both pitcher and quarterback.

He later played in the All-American Amateur Baseball Association, an experience that deepened his lifelong love for sports.

Harold remained an enthusiastic fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Steelers, never missing a chance to cheer on his favorite teams.

Off the field, Harold was known for his baking talents, often sharing his delicious creations with loved ones and neighbors.

His passion for community also led him to serve for many years as Treasurer of the Troy Farmers Market.

Professionally, he dedicated over four decades of his life to Hobart Corporation before retiring with pride.

Harold’s legacy is one of deep-rooted values—love, loyalty, humility, and resilience.

His life touched many, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him.

A celebration of Harold’s life will take place at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2026, at Hale Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami Street, West Milton.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Ohio Hospice of Dayton.
