He was a standout track and field athlete from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he became the 2007 PIAA Triple Jump State Champion in high school.

His athletic success earned him a spot at Penn State University, where he not only competed at the Division I level but also served as captain of the Track and Field Team and was honored as an All-American.

Five years later, in 2026, he secured re-election with an overwhelming 96% of the vote.
