Former Athlete Wayne Charles Marble, 86, Passes Away After Illness, Leaving Wife Mary Lou Christiansen in Mourning!

Wayne C. Marble, 86, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2026, at Parkcliffe at Northwood after a long illness and battle with dementia.
Born on June 14, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles Marble and Lucille Tagtmeyer, Wayne lived a full and active life, leaving behind a legacy of love and community.
Wayne C. Marble is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Lou Marble, and children Karen (Dan) Boening and Kevin (Vicki) Marble; stepson, Gregg (Jayne) Boos.
He was physically active into his early 80s and hated being stuck in a wheelchair.
Wayne’s death comes just 2 weeks after he went out to have an early meal with his wife.
He married his beloved wife, Mary, on November 24, 1978, and they shared almost five decades of wonderful years together.
Wayne also leaves behind his grandchildren, Heidi (Danijel) Raic, and Iain Marble as well as step-granddaughter, Tiffany (Jake Lockwood) Boos.
Likewise, he also leaves his sister, , and brother-in-law, Pat Fox.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Marble and Lucille McDaniel, and siblings Joyce Trzonkawski, Maureen Marble, James Marble, and Sandra Fox.
The former athlete, Wayne, graduated from Waite High School in 1957, where he was a standout athlete in basketball, football, baseball, and bowling.
His athletic achievements earned him a place in the Waite High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
After high school, Wayne served proudly in the United States Army. He later worked for 30 years as a warehouse manager at Willis-Day Storage, retiring in 1994.
The highly esteemed Army veteran, Wayne, achieved 300 perfect bowling scores throughout his career.
Family and friends are invited to visit Freck Funeral Chapel at 1155 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon, on Thursday, May 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Lake Township Cemetery.
