Lonnie Quinn, the chief weathercaster for CBS News New York, recently returned to work after taking time off to recover from an accident.

When he walked back into the newsroom, he was welcomed with warm hugs and cheers from his colleagues.

Earlier in 2026, Lonnie, who swam for the Boston College swim team, had more than just a concussion.

After an MRI, doctors found he had a severe traumatic brain injury. They told him he needed to take six to eight weeks off work to rest and recover fully.

Lonnie Quinn’s Journey Through Recovery, Family Life, And The Support Of His Wife Sharon

Back in March, Lonnie Quinn said his head injury started after he hit his head pretty hard.

At first, he went to the hospital for a check-up, and the initial scan didn’t show anything serious, so he was sent home and thought he was fine.

But over time, he started to feel worse. One night before a late newscast, he suddenly lost vision in his left eye.

That was a wake-up call, and more medical tests, including an MRI, showed that his brain hadn’t fully healed from the original injury.

During this difficult time, his wife Sharon was right there by his side, supporting him through recovery.

Lonnie shares his life in Westport, Connecticut, with his wife Sharon.

The couple has been together since 2007 and is raising their family there, including Lonnie’s son Nate from a previous relationship and their two daughters, Lily and Savannah.

Well, Lonnie and Sharon have a fun and loving relationship.

He recently shared how excited he was to be a groomsman at his brother-in-law’s wedding in April 2017, and he even joked about possibly being a bridesmaid at his producer’s wedding in August.

Moreover, in one lighthearted moment, they wore silly face masks and shared a photo on Facebook. Lonnie joked about it, pointing out “the big pink mass under my nose,” showing their playful side as a couple in 2026.

She’s always there to support him, from fun family moments to helping him through his injury.
