Carlos Castillo, a former coach for Clear Ridge baseball and softball, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 2026.
He was a sports enthusiast and a loyal Chicago Sports Fan. He particularly loved the Chicago Bears.
Carlos was a beloved figure in the Chicago sports community, known for his passion for coaching and his unwavering loyalty to his hometown teams.
As a former coach for Clear Ridge baseball and softball, he inspired countless young athletes with his dedication, enthusiasm, and love for the game.
His energy was contagious, whether watching games with friends or discussing plays with fellow fans.
Beyond sports, he was a proud member of the , where he contributed his hard work and dedication to his trade.
Sadly, his untimely passing saddened the whole community, and many remembered him in their tragic, heartfelt condolence.
It pains me to announce the loss of my beloved brother; he will forever be in my heart.
Carlos Castillo’s Family Mourns The Tragic Loss
Carlos A. Castillo, the son of Alfonso and Leticia Castillo, was born on August 21, 1969.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished brother who passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.
Carlos was the beloved husband of Sonia for 30 years and a loving and devoted father to Carlos Castillo and Anissa Castillo.
He was renowned for his unwavering love and dedication to his family. He was a pillar of strength and encouragement.
Carlos took immense pride in supporting his children in all their endeavors, always offering guidance, love, and a listening ear. His kindness, warmth, and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.
Similarly, he was a dear brother to Dulce Hurst and Alfonso Castillo. He held a special place in the hearts of his nephews, A.J., Arman, Andrew, Jonathan, and Aidan.
Carlos was a man of deep faith, shaped by the strong Catholic upbringing instilled by his mother and grandmother. His devotion to his beliefs guided him in both his personal and professional life.
Sonia, Carlos, and Anissa, we are so very sorry for your loss and so very sad. Carlos was truly one of a kind and an amazing husband, father, and friend, and was such a wonderful person with a huge heart. We will continue to pray for all of you at this difficult time. Sending love and hugs!!
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Furthermore, visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th Street just west of Harlem).
A second visitation will take place on Monday, August 4, beginning at 8:30 AM, followed by prayers at 9:30 AM.
Following that, the funeral procession will head to St. Rene Goupil Church, located in Two Holy Martyrs Parish, where a Mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM.
Carlos will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, beside his beloved parents and grandmother. His legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
