Andrew Zanotti, a gifted athlete in high school, tragically passed away on Wednesday.

Andrew Zanotti was born on November 22, 1929, in West Leechburg. He received a football scholarship to St. Francis College, where he was known as Zipper.

He also raced flat-track motorcycles during those years. Of the many sports trophies he won, he was most proud of his athlete of the year trophy at St. Francis.

He was a member of St. Like Lutheran Church in Cabot and the Western Pennsylvania Harley-Davidson Dealer Association, where he had served as president.

Andrew was also a founding member and former president of the Sunset Riders Motorcycle Club, as well as a life member of the Harley-Davidson Owners Group and the American Motorcycle Association.

Additionally, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.

Former High School Athlete Andrew Zanotti Passed Away At The Age Of 95

Andrew D. Zanotti of Cabot took his last breath on Wednesday, July 2, 2026, at 95. However, the exact cause of death has not been revealed yet.

The tragic news was announced by his granddaughter, Sarah Costanza, by sharing the post of on her social media. She wrote,

Close friends and relatives took to the comment section, mourning the loss and sending prayers to Andrew’s family. One person wrote,

So very sorry to all your family. He was a great guy and we are happy we got to meet him. Prayers for God’s comfort in the days ahead. Hugs

Another person wrote,

Sarah, I’m so very sorry to hear of your grandfather’s passing. He lived a long and interesting life. May he now rest in eternal peace.

Oh pal, I’m sending you every hug I could possibly muster your way. 

Other close ones and relatives have also poured their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Andrew’s family to stay strong in this challenging time.

As per Andrew’s , friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2026, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2026, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot, with the Revs. Barry Keurulainen and Ben Berteau are officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church and School, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, PA 16023.

Andrew Zanotti Is Survived By His Wife Doris Zanotti And Two Children

Former high school athlete Andrew Zanotti tied the knot with Doris Doerr Zanotti on June 14, 1958.

Andrew and his wife Doris and operated Zanotti Motor Company on Route 8 South in Butler for over 57 years, having purchased the dealership from his father.

Over the years, they sold a multitude of products, bringing much fun and enjoyment to others.

Tragically, their married life ended after 67 years, following the tragic death of Andrew.

They were blessed with one daughter, Anita D. Peffer, and one son, Dean A. Zanotti.

According to Anita’s handle, she attended Knoch High School and later graduated from Robert Morris University. She worked at Habenicht, Novak & Birckbichler, a CPA firm.

She has been married to Mark Peffer of Butler.

In addition, Andrew and Doris had six grandchildren: Andrew D. Zanotti, Sarah Costanzo, August D. Zanotti, Olivia J. Zanotti, Matthew A. Peffer, and Nicholas R. Peffer.

Currently, they are mourning the tragic death of their supportive and devoted father, Andrew D. Zanotti.

  • Andrew Zanotti was born to his father, Dominick M. Zanotti, and his mother, Theresa Bosin Zanotti.
  • His brother, Donald A. Zanotti, was also a Korean War Veteran, having served in the Army. He also managed and sold motorcycles at the Kiski Valley Cycle Center in North Vandergrift and later at Honda Horizon in New Kensington. Sadly, he passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011, in Butler County Memorial Hospital at 78.
