Michael coached Lima Midget football and softball for many years and was active with the Lima Senior Athletic Booster.

Lima Midget’s football and softball coach, Michael Eddie Caprella, passed away on Monday.
Michael Eddie Caprella, born on March 2, 1937, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Sam and Rose (Fowler) Caprella, was a Lima Senior High School graduate.
He , Lima Engine Plant, after 37 years of service.
Michael coached Lima Midget football and softball for many years and was active with the Lima Senior Athletic Booster.
Caprella was also inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame as a Booster.
He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and boated countless hours on Indian Lake.

Michael Eddie Caprella, football and softball coach at Lima Midget, took his last breath on Monday, May 5, 2026, at 88.

As per his family, thewill start at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2026, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2026, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2026.
Michael will always be remembered for his unforgettable contributions as a coach to Lima Midget. Rest in Heaven, Michael Eddie Caprella.
Michael Eddie Caprella And His Wife Brenda Had Three Children
Michael Eddie Caprella married the love of his life, Brenda Gottfried Caprella, on November 29, 1958.
Brenda from Lima Senior High School in 1956 and was a dedicated real estate agent in the Lima area for over 25 years with Yocum Realty and Superior Plus Realtors.
She was active with the Lima Senior Athletic Boosters and volunteered in the Lima community for many years.
Michael Eddie and Brenda Caprella were married for over 59 years. (Source: )Sadly, Michael and Brenda’s married life ended after 59 years following Brenda’s on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 78.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Chiles, Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel.
Michael and Brenda had three children: Pamela Vickers, Michael J Caprella, and Carmen M. Lacy.
Pamela Vickers tied the knot with Edward Vickers and shares one son, Michael Vickers, who has been married to Stephanie Vickers.
Michael J. Caprella married Lori Caprella and welcomed three children: Nick, Michelle, and Jared Caprella.
On the other hand, Carmen M. Lacy married Tim Lacy and welcomed two children: Dalton and Trischa Lacy.
They are mourning the tragic death of their supportive and devoted father, Michael Eddie Caprella.
