Truston Alexander was a 16-year-old from Poplar Bluff, Missouri, who tragically died after a tubing accident on July 15, 2026.

He was riding on a tube behind a boat on a private pond near County Road 465 in Butler County when he was thrown from the tube and hit a partially submerged log.

Alexander was not wearing a life jacket at the time, nor was the boat operator, a friend of the same age.

Truston was seriously injured, taken to a hospital in Poplar Bluff, and later airlifted to Memphis, Tennessee.

Despite medical efforts, at around 7 a.m. on July 16, 2026.

Authorities confirmed it was the first boating-related death in Butler County this year.

Truston Alexander attended Poplar Bluff Junior High School in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where he was a student-athlete.

Wearing jersey number #14, he was a junior high running back for the School’s Class of 2027.

Based in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, through school football with determination and promise.

Additionally, he was a member of the Poplar Bluff Skeet and Golf teams.

Beyond athleticism, he was an outdoors enthusiast who loved golf, hunting, fishing, shooting trap, and spending time with loved ones.

reflected a deep love for hunting. He frequently shared photos of himself in camo gear.

The loss of Truston Alexander has deeply affected his local community in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and beyond.

His family released a photo through the Butler County Coroner’s office, asking for prayers and privacy during this heartbreaking time.

Friends, classmates, and teachers have begun sharing memories of his football games and his love for hunting.

Truston’s family, including his mother, Leanna, and grandmother, Debbie, are mourning his loss.

Though they have chosen to grieve quietly, they offered a powerful tribute by sharing a photo of him via social media.
