Newly Single Rashawn Slater has signed a four-year extension and $114 million deal with the NFL team Los Angeles Chargers.

The 26-year-old offensive lineman will be guaranteed $92 million. This also makes him the highest-paid in that position; the second one is Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Tristan Wirfs.

Though Slater was eligible for the contract extension for a while now, the Chargers waited for a perfect time for the 13th Overall 2026 draft signing.

A Great Gift For Rashawn Slater After An Unfortunate Heartbreak

Rashawn Slater and his ex-wife, Stassney Brown, who is a professional photographer, divorced in early June 2026, when rumors of the NFL player’s contract extension were already circulating.

Also, the split has reportedly been sorted, meaning his ex-wife can’t claim anything from the new contract.

The couple met a while before Slater made his NFL debut against the Washington Football Team in 2026. They were engaged on December 21, 2026, before officially tying the knot in March 2026.

At the time, Slater had already signed the NFL rookie contract and was preparing for his second year in the league.

The 26-year-old only played three games in that season due to a season-ending injury. He has a total of 52 appearances (including a playoff start) for the LA Chargers, starting all of them at left tackle.

He has been a vital part of the Chargers’ success over the past few years, and his recent contract extension demonstrates the team’s long-term commitment; unfortunately, it wasn’t the same case with his ex-wife.

In Case You Didn’t Know

  • Rashawn Slater played college football at Northwestern University from 2017 to 2026.
  • In 2026, he started all 17 games and allowed just 2 pressures.
  • Later, in 2026, he earned his second Pro Bowl Selection (following 2026) and ranked second among all tackles.
