Julia “Jules” Wilson, a 21-year-old ringette player from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, passed away suddenly on July 2, 2026.

Thus far, the details surrounding the cause of Julia Wilson’s demise haven’t been shared, as her family is grieving in privacy during this difficult time.

Having said that, even in her last days, she made a selfless act by donating her organs, giving a gift of life to three people in need of critical organ transplants.

Julia’s close friends, and Danika Osborne, shared a heartfelt message on behalf of her family. They broke the tragic news, writing:

With heavy hearts and the support of her family, we share the devastating news that our beloved Julia Wilson (Jules) has passed away.

She led a fulfilling and beautiful life, sharing love and kindness everyday. Our precious memories with her will forever live on in our hearts.

A passionate Ringette player, Julia Wilson, affectionately known as Jules, is survived by her parents and extended family.

Her family and friends are grateful for the overwhelming love and support they have received during this heartbreaking time.

The GCRA described her as a vital part of the sport, saying, “She made the world a better place, and our sport is better because she was a part of it.”

Ringette Player Julia Wilson had built an impressive career at the Gatineau Fusion!

Born in Ottawa, Wilson played as a forward for the Gatineau Fusion in the National Ringette League (NRL/LNR), wearing jersey number 11 and shooting left-handed.

Over her career, she demonstrated consistent growth and skill, particularly during her tenure with the Fusion in the 2026-2026 season, where she played 25 games, scoring 5 goals and recording 22 assists for a total of 27 points, including one power-play goal and accumulating 24 penalty minutes.

She began turning heads as early as the 2026–2026 season, when she played for U19 ON1-Team Ontario in the Canadian Ringette Championships (CRC), delivering 13 points in 8 games, including both a power-play and a shorthanded goal.

The following season, she continued her momentum with U19 ON3-GCRA and proudly represented Ontario in the 2026 Canada Winter Games (CWG/JHC), where she notched an impressive 14 points in 7 games, highlighted by five power-play goals.

Wilson’s professional rise continued with her 2026–2026 debut in the NRL, where she played 25 games for the Fusion, tallying 5 goals and 22 assists, one of the highest assist totals on the team.

Her standout performance came on March 9, 2026, when she tallied four assists against the Atlantic Attack. However, her aggressive playing style led to 24 penalty minutes.

In the 2026–2026 season, she further proved her worth, playing all 31 games, contributing 6 goals and 9 assists, including a memorable game-winning goal.

One of her final standout efforts came in the consolation match against Rive-Sud Revolution on April 12, 2026, where she recorded a goal and two assists.

Julia’s journey from youth competitions to the national stage has left a lasting legacy in the ringette world.

According to her friends, arrangements to honor her vibrant life and career will be announced in due course.
