Glenbrook South HS Student-Athlete Josh Terrill, Dies After Battle With Guillain–Barré Syndrome, Leaving His Parents Behind!

The Glenview community and Glenbrook South High School are heartbroken over the passing of Joshua “Josh” Terrill, a beloved student-athlete, on June 8, 2026.

Josh passed away after a brave fight against Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a rare illness that affects the nerves.

Joshua “Josh” Terrill was a dedicated and talented student-athlete at Glenbrook South High School, where he excelled in track & field and cross country.

He had enrolled in 2026 and was a part of the Class of 2027 at Glenbrook South High School.

Most recently, just a couple of weeks ago, in May 2026, Josh Terrill ran the 4×800 relay at the frosh/soph level for Glenbrook South High School at the Outdoor Conference Championship.

He led the team with his first-ever sub-2:20 split, helping the relay team secure a 4th-place finish with a time of 9:19.11.

On May 17, 2925, took to their Facebook page to share the news about the Outdoor Conference Championship, writing:

This past Wednesday, a large majority of the track team concluded their seasons at the Outdoor Conference Championship.
At the frosh/soph level, the 4×800, led by Josh Terrill’s first sub 2:20 performance, fought for a solid 4th place finish with a time of 9:19.11.

On the track, he worked hard, always pushing himself to be better while cheering on his teammates. Whereas, in the classroom, Josh was a curious and dedicated student with a passion for science and technology.

Josh is survived by his parents, friends, teammates, and extended family members.

Although he isn’t physically present, his memory will always be immortal among the people who knew and adored him.

Thus far, his parents haven’t broken their silence surrounding the untimely passing of their beloved son as they are processing the grief in silence.

Likewise, details about his visitation and funeral services have yet to be published by his family.

During this ordeal, we offer our heartfelt condolences to Josh Terrill’s parents, friends, and extended family.
