Basketball coach Drew Hall and his wife were blessed with two daughters.
Drew Hall, a 36-year-old boys basketball coach at Golden West High School in Visalia, was in Sequoia National Park on Sunday, July 13, 2026, after going missing on Saturday, July 12, 2026.
Hall, described as “athletic and fit” by a park official, was part of a larger group visiting the area but went hiking on his own in “very rugged terrain.”
His family and friends alerted park officials when Hall didn’t return to the group in his intended time frame.
While park rangers searched for Hall on Sunday morning, his body was ultimately found by family and friends that afternoon below Sawtooth Peak, an area with a “rough and unmaintained” trail.
In a statement, Chief Ranger David Fox said,
“This has been a challenging year for our search and rescue teams,” “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the hiker. We encourage everyone to take extra precautions and remain vigilant while enjoying the beauty of these National Parks. Safety must always come first.”
National Park Service officials said search and rescue teams have responded to 60 incidents so far this year. Hall’s death is the fifth fatality at the park in 2026.
Visalia Unified stated that counselors are available for students and staff affected by Drew Hall’s tragic passing.
Additionally, Jagar Brooks from Visalia, CA, has organized a fundraising campaign on to support Drew’s family financially.
The campaign aims to collect over $60k, and it has collected around $43,023.
Drew will always be remembered for his unforgettable contribution as the boys’ basketball coach of Golden West High School. Rest in Peace, Drew Hall.
Drew Hall’s Wife, Ruthie Hall, Is A Graduate Of Biola University
Golden West High School’s boys basketball coach, Drew Hall, was to Ruthie Hall of La Mirada on July 28, 2012, at Churn Creek Golf Course in Redding.
After several years, the couple got married. However, their exact wedding date has not been mentioned.
Ruthie always supported Drew in balancing his professional and personal life.
Sadly, their married life ended following the tragic death of Drew.
Closed ones and relatives have poured their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Ruthie to stay strong in this challenging time.
Ruthie Hall was born to her father, Dave, and her mother, Leslie Hall, in Redding, California, United States. Her parents got married on July 11, 1981.
She from Enterprise High School in 2007 and from Biola University in 2011.
Ruthie also drove ambulances as an EMT in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

Drew and Ruthie Hall were blessed with their first daughter, Riley Hall, 3, born in 2026.
In April 2026, they were blessed with another daughter, whose identity has not been revealed.
The couple frequently uploaded pictures of their daughters on their social media handles.
On November 1, 2026, Ruthie a photo of Riley, wishing Happy Halloween. She captioned,

Currently, Riley and her sister are mourning the loss of their supportive father, Drew Hall.
