The Hurley Surf community is grieving the sudden loss of Antwoine “Twon” Langley, a beloved local surf legend, in May 2026.

Twon Langley from Pawleys Island, South Carolina, leaves behind his parents, sister Shaquira, and extended family.

Waccamaw High School graduate, Twon Langley, was more than an incredible surfer; he was a generous soul who made everyone feel at home.

From a young age, Twon Langley felt at home in the ocean, picking up a surfboard and quickly showing a natural talent for riding waves.

Antwoine had been a part of the Surf The Earth family since he was 15 years old.

What made Twon truly special was his heart. He was everyone’s friend, always ready with a smile and a kind word.

, his friend, penned a lengthy message in honor of his life in a Facebook post.

In the post, she blended personal memories, admiration, nostalgia, and a collective mourning, which reads:

The friends you grow up with are the ones who knew your dreams, your heart’s desires, the trouble you got into, and all the stupid things you did. They get to watch you grow and witness the hidden blessings that unfold for you, and they cheer you on through each high and low and vice versa.

Twon was everyone’s friend, so this is a loss that touches the entire Island and beyond. We knew your heart, your laughter, the mischief and milestones. We watched you grow, saw your dreams unfold, and celebrated every victory and smile you shared,” Lindsay added.

She concluded, adding:

With heartache and memories flowing, let us lift the Langley family up. The light, the laughter, and the love Twon gave so freely were reflections of the values instilled in him by his incredible family. If everyone carried the kind of heart he did, the world would be a far better place.
Rest easy, my friend. I hope you’re surfing the biggest waves and skating the smoothest pavement. Love you and miss you always, Twonny. 🤍🙏🏼

He also cared deeply about keeping Pawleys Island’s beaches clean. He organized beach cleanups, rallying friends and neighbors to protect the shoreline he loved.

So far, details of his funeral services have yet to be published by his parents. During this ordeal, we offer our heartfelt condolences to his extended family.

Rest in peace, Twon. May you surf the biggest waves and skate the smoothest paths in heaven. You will always be loved and missed.
