TJ and Valerie’s connection started in childhood, blossoming from a friendship forged in kindergarten into something deeper as they reached their teenage years at Chartiers Valley High School.
Indiana Pacers’ TJ McConnell, now in his 10th NBA season, has once again been a problem for the Knicks.
He came off the bench and scored 10 points in just 14 minutes in both of the Pacers’ wins at Madison Square Garden, helping them take a 2-0 lead before the series moved to Indianapolis for Game 3.
Well, last year, Josh Hart commented about T.J. McConnell that might’ve sounded harsh to some, but it was high praise coming from someone known for being a tough competitor.
He called McConnell “an annoying little guy,” meant more as recognition of how disruptive McConnell can be on the court.
Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle praised his bench after Game 2, especially McConnell.
He said that at this stage in the playoffs, teams need to bring toughness and a determined mindset, and McConnell has been doing that.

Valerie Guiliani grew up in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, a small town just outside Pittsburgh, where she and T.J. were practically neighbors, living on the same street, Critchfield Drive.
By high school, their bond had turned romantic, with Valerie cheering T.J. on as he led the Chartiers Valley Colts to a WPIAL championship, averaging an astounding 34.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game as a senior.
He didn’t go for a standard proposal but instead crafted a heartfelt scavenger hunt that took Valerie on a nostalgic journey through their shared past, visiting the places where they first met, where they grew up, and back to their high school gym.
There, T.J. had spread rose petals across the floor and played their favorite song, creating an intimate and deeply personal moment.
They tied the knot on September 9, 2017, in a beautiful ceremony at the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh South/Meadows Racetrack & Casino.
The wedding celebrated their roots, attended by close friends, family, and notable figures like T.J.’s Arizona coach Sean Miller and teammates like Nik Stauskas, who served as a groomsman.
When their first son was born in 2026, McConnell said it changed everything for him.
It wasn’t just about basketball anymore. It was about being a better man.
Next in 2026, T.J. McConnell and his wife, Valerie, welcomed their second son, adding to the joy of their growing family.
With two young kids now at home, some fans and analysts have started to speculate whether coaching could be the next chapter in McConnell’s basketball journey once his playing days are over.
