While fans know him for his accolades, fewer know about the foundation built by his parents, Tony Bradley Sr. and Vanessa Bradley, in their hometown of Bartow, Florida.
Tony Bradley’s Father Saw The Spark In Him When He Took Him To An All-Star Game
Tony Bradley Jr. was born on January 8, 1998, in Bartow, a town of around 19,000 people, where his love for basketball was nurtured from an early age.
His father, Tony Sr., played college basketball at Florida A&M University, and recognized his son’s potential long before the rest of the world caught on.

The young Bradley was in awe of big men like Derrick Favors and DeMarcus Cousins, and something clicked.
That day, his father bought him a T-shirt and a program as a keepsake, but more importantly, he made a promise to support his son’s dream.
He even built a concrete basketball court in their backyard, where Tony Jr. would train relentlessly, day and night.
Years later, when Tony Jr. earned his own place as a McDonald’s All-American, he brought out that same shirt and program he had preserved for seven years.
Tony Sr. recalled,
He said, ‘Dad, I told you. This is what I wanted to do.’
Now an NBA professional, Tony Jr. continues to embody the determination and humility instilled by his parents.
Tony Bradley’s Caring Mother, Vanessa Bradley, Shaped His Career
Tony’s mother, Vanessa Bradley, is equally integral to his story.
A graduate of Florida A&M (class of 1992) and Bartow Senior High School, Vanessa has dedicated her career to healthcare, working at the Bartow Regional Medical Center.
Her nurturing nature has been the emotional bedrock of the family, especially during the highs and lows of Tony Jr.’s journey to the NBA.
Throughout the years, she’s balanced her demanding work schedule with support for her son’s athletic career by attending games and encouraging his education.
His Father Has Chosen A Different Career After Quitting Basketball
Beyond basketball, Tony Bradley Sr. has also become a spiritual guide and a pastor in Florida.
In fact, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he found social media as a new way to connect with his congregation.
