J.J. McCarthy, a quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL, is happily engaged to his high school sweetheart, Katya Kuropas, and the couple is soon to be parents of a baby boy.

The Vikings’ star J.J. McCarthy first met his fiancée, Katya Kuropas, while attending Nazareth Academy in Illinois. They began dating on October 8, 2018.

Despite McCarthy’s transfer from Nazareth to IMG Academy later, the couple remained together and have since been each other’s constant support through all the good and bad times.

The couple became engaged on January 20, 2026. In May 2026, Katya Kuropas announced that they are —a baby boy—due in September 2026.

Her mother, Tania Kawawan Kuropas, was born to her late father, Oleh Karawan, and her mother, Ivanka Jaworsky Karawan.

Furthermore, Tania’s father (Katya’s maternal grandfather), Oleh Karawan, a U.S. veteran and a resident of Inverness, Illinois, on September 13, 2026, at the age og 87.

Furthermore, Roman Kuropas is the founder and CEO of Innova EV and Dash e-Mobility, established in 2011.

Prior to his current position, Roman Kuropas served as the CEO and President of Inverom Digital + IOT for almost 15 years and CEO of Expert Automotive Group for almost six years.

He also served as the Business Development Executive of GE and the Sales Executive of Polyone.

In addition to being a famous automotive company leader, Roman Kuropas won the hearts of many with his amazing athletic skills while attending Robert Morris University.

Roman Kuropas was an exceptional and served as the team’s captain, leading his team to several victories, including being named to the All-Conference First Team in 1991 and 1992.

He was involved in professional soccer, playing for the Pittsburgh Stingers and Detroit Neon, which were teams in the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL).

Roman Kuropas graduated from Robert Morris University with a BSBA in International Marketing in 1993.

He also attended Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hamtramck, MI.

In addition to Katya Kuropas’ father, Roman, her brother, Maxym ‘Max’ Kuropas, played varsity football at Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, Illinois, from which he graduated in 2018.
