Model and singer Jordyn Woods’ parents, John and Elizabeth Woods, divorced when she was in her early childhood, leading to her moving out frequently.

It was when her family settled in Calabasas, California, at the age of thirteen that Jordyn Woods decided to be homeschooled instead of attending a traditional school.

Jordyn’s father, John Woods, worked as a sound engineer in the entertainment industry. He was part of the team for the popular TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, starring Will Smith.

Jordyn Woods Maintained A Close Bond With Her Parents Despite Their Divorce!

Rather than dwelling on the divorce, Jordyn cultivated a sound bond with both of his parents. Ocassionally, she has acknowledged them for their sacrifices in her life.

Shortly after her father’s death, Jordyn spoke to PEOPLE about the suddenness of his cancer diagnosis and how it brought her family closer despite her parents’ prior divorce.

She shared that spending his final days together in the hospital allowed them to heal old wounds, and she credited her father for teaching her strength and kindness.

Jordyn Woods often shares heartfelt tributes to him, like an emotional post on her father’s death anniversary.

On the eighth anniversary of her father’s death, Jordyn posted a heartfelt Instagram tribute including a carousel of photos with her father and family. In the caption, she wrote,

Today marks 8 years without you For those of you who have been here that long, how crazy is it that it’s already been 8 years!?
I wish I could say grief was something that got easier over time, and for some that may be the case, but for me losing a parent is like having a hole in your heart that never seems to heal. Eventually you just learn to live with that hole.

She described the enduring “hole in her heart” and how she’s grown to carry the loss while cherishing his memory.

Likewise, Jordyn also shares a strong bond with her mother, Elizabeth, who has been a guiding figure in her life.

She honored her mother, Elizabeth Woods, on her birthday, calling her “Her Rock.” In the post, she wrote:

The strongest woman I know. There is no one like you.
