Bryson, a passionate young baseball player, passed away on June 12, 2026, from an unexpected cardiac arrest caused by myocarditis.
His parents, Amy and Todd Funk, along with his sisters, Daisy Mohney and Taylor, are suffering from unbelievable grief.

Amy played for the Ridgerunner team in a women’s softball tournament in 2018, while Todd, a baseball enthusiast, often took Bryson to games, encouraging his love for the sport.
Wearing #3 as a pitcher for the Linglestown Colts, Bryson was a standout player whose passion for baseball was matched only by his compassion for others.
Just one day before his passing, Bryson had the game of his life.
In a championship match, he went 3-3 at the plate, hitting two doubles, driving in three runs, stealing three bases, and pitching the final three innings.

Despite his team’s victory, he chose to stand with the opposing team, the Hawks, in the group photo, showing support for his friends who had lost.
A gentleman from the Hawks family shared that when he congratulated Bryson that night, expecting a high-five, Bryson instead shook his hand and thanked him—a small gesture that spoke a lot about his character.

Bryson’s sudden departure has left his parents, Amy and Todd, and his sisters, Daisy and Taylor, in deep shock and unbearable pain.
Bryson’s older sister, Daisy, created the Bryson Funk Memorial Wall, a space where anyone who knew him could share cherished memories.
Daisy recalled a special day spent with in January 2026. She and her fiancé took him to play laser tag, where they enjoyed countless rounds, arcade games, and prizes.
At the end of the night, Bryson’s face lit up with a huge smile as he hugged Daisy and declared, “That was the best day ever!” That memory, Daisy wrote, will stay with her forever, along with the image of his infectious grin.
Todd, Bryson’s father, has also found comfort in sharing stories of his son.
In a heartfelt post, he described Bryson’s championship game, not just for its athletic feats but for the kindness Bryson showed afterward.

Stephanie Geissel, a paraprofessional at Linglestown Elementary, shared how Bryson volunteered as a peer buddy in the MDS classroom.
“He was amazing with our students always willing to help them with activities and encourage them. I’m thankful I got to know Bryson this past school year and will treasure the memories. He will be greatly missed, especially as a peer buddy next school year.”
ViaThrough the school’s program, he spent time with special needs students during recess, helping with activities and offering encouragement.
Local organizations have also stepped up to honor Bryson’s memory.

They encouraged the community to contribute to a GoFundMe and Meal Train set up to support the Funk family.
To help ease the financial burden of Bryson’s funeral and memorial services, Amy’s cousin, Nick Brantner, launched a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $50,000.
All donations will go directly to the family to cover funeral and burial expenses, as well as provide additional support as they navigate life without their beloved boy.

The outpouring of love and generosity shows the huge impact Bryson had on those around him.
