Brysen Wright, a 15-year-old wide receiver from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida, is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about young football prospects in the country.

A member of the class of 2028, Wright is gaining popularity after a jaw-dropping one-handed touchdown catch during the 2026 NFL Flag Football Championships in Canton, Ohio.

Representing Jaguars Elite 14U, he made the viral grab in triple coverage, which gained praise from NFL star Patrick Mahomes.

Already a football star, as a freshman, 31 receptions for 646 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Furthermore, he was named MVP of the FBU Freshman All-American Bowl and became the first in his class to earn a 4-star rating.

Known for his elite route-running and a reported 4.5-second 40-yard dash, Wright impressed even while managing a groin injury at Ohio State’s summer camp under Coach Brian Hartline.

His college offer list continues to grow, already including major programs such as Miami, Ohio State, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, LSU, and others. Beyond the field, Brysen also plays basketball and recently signed a five-figure NIL deal with Wild Card Trading Cards, making him one of the youngest athletes in the country to land such a partnership.

Brysen Wright followed in the footsteps of his father,, a former football star who is currently serving as a football coach and teacher.

A native of St. Augustine, Florida, Colby has been serving as a virtual adult high school teacher and mathematics teacher in the St. Johns County School District.

Additionally, he also serves as the president and coach of St. John’s Spartans, INC. Before that, Colby worked as the president and football coach of West Augustine Youth Development, guiding both his sons, Brysen and his elder brother, Myles, in their sports journey.

Colby Wright earned his master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Florida State University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina.

Talking about his personal life, Brysen’s father, Colby, by a single mother, Caroyln Wright, who works in the student services department for the St. Johns County School District.

Colby often credits his mother, Caroyln, as his mentor, although she was unable to attend college herself, she encouraged her children to pursue a college degree.

He has two siblings: a sister, Ranata Wright, who works as a guidance counselor at Edgewater High School in Orlando, and a brother, Rante Ford, a math teacher in Yulee.
