The University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) has named Head Football Coach Bryant Vincent as the Interim Athletic Director, a move that combines two of the university’s most critical leadership roles under one dynamic figure.
The appointment is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.
ULM President Dr. Carrie L. Castille expressed confidence in Vincent’s ability to lead both the athletic department and the football program, citing his proven leadership and deep ties to the ULM community.
Dr. Castille said,
“Bryant has the support of the Associate ADs and will be working closely with them to ensure he can serve both roles and win games. He has already gained the support of this community as a head coach, and I have no doubt in his ability to serve in both roles with excellence and a winning spirit.”
ULM will conduct a national search for a permanent Athletic Director while Vincent takes on the interim position.
Bryant Vincent Has Strong Years As Head Coach
Vincent took over as head football coach in December 2026 and quickly turned heads by leading the Warhawks to their best start in nearly four decades.
ULM opened the 2026 season with a 5-1 record, their strongest start since 1987, and finished the season 5-7 overall.
Highlights of his debut season included a 30-14 win over Jackson State, a 32-6 triumph against UAB, and a thrilling 21-19 victory over James Madison University.
His team topped the Sun Belt Conference in several defensive and discipline-related statistics, including passing yards allowed and fewest penalty yards per game.
Vincent’s player development credentials were evident with the rise of Ahmad Hardy, who rushed for 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns as a true freshman.
Hardy earned multiple honors, including Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year, FWAA Freshman All-American, and Louisiana Freshman of the Year.
Vincent has prioritized academics and infrastructure as well.
Under his guidance, ULM football recorded its highest term GPA in history during Fall 2026 and achieved an 84% graduation success rate, the highest among Sun Belt teams.
Major facility upgrades were also completed at Malone Stadium, including renovations to the team room, locker room, and athletics lobby.
Before joining ULM, Vincent was the Offensive Coordinator at the University of New Mexico, where his offensive schemes ranked among the top 20 nationally in red zone and rushing efficiency.
He previously served as Interim Head Coach at UAB in 2026, leading the Blazers to a Bahamas Bowl victory and a 7-6 season.
As UAB’s Offensive Coordinator, he helped the program win two Conference USA Championships and three bowl games, setting multiple school records in the process.
From 2018 to 2026, Vincent never had a losing season with UAB, accumulating an overall coaching record of 48-27.
Bryant Vincent Married His High School Sweetheart And Had Two Sons
Originally from Glasgow, Kentucky, Bryant Vincent is married to Holli Pritchett, his high school sweetheart.
The couple has two sons: Brady, who serves on the ULM coaching staff, and Bret, a wide receiver for the Warhawks.
The Vincents are also known for their charitable efforts.
They organize food drives and community outreach events and founded the Joy Like Anna Foundation in memory of their niece, Anna Kamplain.
The foundation’s mission is to spread joy through acts of service and keep Anna’s legacy alive.
