Quincy Wilson, an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 400 meters, has been making headlines with his record-breaking performance.

The 17-year-old American track star broke the under-18 best in the 400 meters for the fourth time.

Competing at the Ed Murphey Classic in Memphis on July 12, 2026, Wilson ran an incredible 44.10 seconds, beating a field that included Olympic relay medalists Bryce Deadmon and Elija Godwin.

Quincy Wilson’s time not only marked a personal best but also placed him second on the all-time under-20 list, just behind Steve Lewis, who ran 43.87 at the 1988 Olympics.

Wilson’s performance also moved him ahead of Lewis’s other time of 44.11 from the U.S. Olympic trials that same year, making it one of the fastest 400m runs ever by a teenager.

However, Quincy Wilson’s recent achievement isn’t the only reason he’s making headlines. A viral TikTok video has sparked rumors that he has been banned from the Bullis School track team.

As the video continues to gain attention online, many are now questioning whether the claims are true and what Quincy might have done to face such a ban.

The now-viral video claims that Quincy Wilson has been banned from the Bullis School track team for crossing lanes and cheating and is fined $1.2M — a claim many believe to be false.

One wrote, “They need to kick you off TikTok for lying for views.” Another added, “He didn’t get kicked off the team.“

However, despite rumors circulating online, Olympic gold medalist Quincy Wilson has not been banned from his athletic career or school track team and continues to thrive in his career.

Quincy Wilson Says TikTok Nearly Banned His Account in 2026

The only ban Quincy Wilson was from TikTok, which temporarily removed his account due to concerns about his age.

At just 16 years old, Wilson was still above the platform’s minimum age requirement, but the app flagged his account, possibly due to an error or stricter enforcement policies.

He shared his frustration in a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “TikTok tried to ban me because they said I was too young 💔💔.“

Despite the brief ban, Wilson remained positive and continued connecting with fans through other social media platforms.

Fans quickly rallied behind the rising star, with one commenting, “You got gold, who cares! The government is trying to ban TikTok we are definitely proud of you!” Another added, “Not too young to win a gold medal tho.“

At just 16, Quincy Wilson qualified for the men’s 4 × 400 m relay pool for the 2026 Summer Olympics, becoming the youngest American track & field male Olympian in history.

Representing the United States at the 2026 Paris Olympics, Quincy Wilson won the gold medal in the 4 x 400 meters, becoming the youngest track and field Olympic gold medalist in history.
