Yvette Luna Gregory has stood by her husband, coach Brian Gregory, as a loving and loyal wife for nearly three decades.

Brian Francis Gregory, born December 15, 1966, has built an impressive career in basketball.

After playing at the U.S. Naval Academy and Oakland University, where he was a three-time all-conference selection and Academic All-American, Gregory transitioned to coaching.

His coaching career began at Michigan State as an assistant under Tom Izzo, where he contributed to three Final Four appearances and the 2000 national championship.

Gregory took his first head coaching position at Dayton in 2003, leading the Flyers to NCAA tournament appearances in 2004 and 2009, as well as the 2010 NIT championship.

After eight successful seasons at Dayton, he moved to Georgia Tech in 2011. Though his tenure with the Yellow Jackets presented challenges, his final season saw the team win 21 games and reach the NIT.

In 2017, Gregory became head coach at South Florida, where he led the Bulls to the College Basketball Invitational championship in 2019.

After being relieved of his coaching duties at USF in 2026, Gregory transitioned to front office work with the Phoenix Suns, first as vice president of player programming in 2026 before being named general manager in May 2026.

Brian Gregory’s Wife Has Been His Rock For 29 Years

Yvette Luna Gregory has been Brian’s steadfast partner throughout his coaching career.

Their love story began in the early 1990s in Chicago, where both were originally from.

Brian has their first meeting as “love at first sight,” and their connection has only strengthened over the decades.

On August 11, 2026, the couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, marking over a quarter-century of partnership.

By 2026, they had reached 29 years of marriage, with Brian showcasing his love for his wife by writing,

“I love this girl! Happy anniversary my love❤️”

Yvette has been instrumental in supporting Brian’s career transitions and moves across the country.

When Brian was let go from Georgia Tech and returned to Michigan State as a consultant, Yvette recognized the value in this transition period. In an interview, she shared,

“For Brian to have this time with Coach Izzo is invaluable. I think it’s just what he needed.”

Her support extends beyond emotional encouragement. During Brian’s time at USF from 2017 to 2026, Yvette attended every home game, demonstrating her commitment to his professional success.

When universities hired Brian, they often specifically welcomed Yvette in their announcements, acknowledging her role in the “package deal” they were getting.

Brian and Yvette Gregory Raised Two Daughters Through The Highs Of A Coaching Career

Brian and Yvette have raised two daughters: Isabella (Bella) and Elyse. Their family life has been closely intertwined with Brian’s coaching career, with both daughters born during pivotal moments in his professional journey.

Isabella was born in East Lansing while Brian was an assistant coach at Michigan State.

In a memorable incident, Brian left his phone in the car while visiting a recruit with Tom Izzo, only to return to 20 messages from Yvette, who had gone into labor.

Isabella graduated from Notre Dame in May 2026, with Brian proudly sharing the celebration on social media.

Their younger daughter, Elyse, was born early on a game day while Brian was coaching at Dayton.

With characteristic humor and understanding of the demands of his profession, Yvette told him around 4:30 p.m.,

“I think you can make the game tonight.”

Not only did he make it, but his team defeated St. Joe’s that evening. Elyse celebrated her high school graduation in June 2026 and later committed to Wake Forest University.

Both daughters have grown up within the basketball world, with Brian frequently expressing pride in their accomplishments on social media.
