Pilar Sanders was born on October 10, 1974, in Elmira, New York, to parents Jeanette and Daniel “Dan” Biggers. She has two siblings, Scottie and Candy.

Pilar is of African American, Filipino, and Puerto Rican descent, reflecting a rich and diverse ethnic background.

Growing up in Elmira, Pilar attended Syracuse University from 1992 to 1995, where she studied before transitioning into modeling and acting.

Her parents were supportive of her pursuits and frequently visited her during her time in Syracuse.

Her father, Daniel Biggers, was originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired employee of General Electric, and a well-known local boxer.

Additionally, he was an active member of St. Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church in Elmira.

Tragically, on October 17, 2001, at the age of 78.

They married in May 1999 and have three children together: Shilo (born 2000), Shedeur (born 2003), and Shelomi (born 2004). The couple divorced in 2013 after a highly publicized legal battle.
