The tight-knit community of Pittsfield, Illinois, is mourning the loss of two beloved Pittsfield High School students, 17-year-old Joel Noble and senior Jesse Davidsmeyer, who tragically died in a two-vehicle crash on May 24, 2026.

The accident occurred shortly before 2:15 p.m. and has left families, friends, and the entire Pikeland community in deep grief.

Troop 6 responded to a fatal crash at the intersection of US 67 and Woodson Winchester Road in Pittsfield, Illinois.

Two vehicles collided, resulting in the deaths of Pittsfield High School students Joel Noble, a 17-year-old junior, and Jesse Davidsmeyer, a senior.

Two others were injured and airlifted to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield for treatment.

The news shocked the community, leaving friends, family, and neighbors in disbelief.

Pikeland CUSD 10 Superintendent Todd Fox shared the heartbreaking news on social media, writing,

He called on the community to unite and offered counseling and resources for students, staff, and community members in the coming days.

Joel Noble Was A Shining Light In Pittsfield

Joel Noble, born in March 2008 to Justin and Jennifer Sawyer Noble, was a lively and cherished member of the Pittsfield community.

Joel was a popular athlete at Pittsfield High School, known for his energy and love for sports.

Wrestling was his heart and soul, but he excelled in basketball, golf, and baseball.

His parents, who have been married since April 12, 2003, often spoke of their pride in watching Joel thrive on the field, court, and course.

His father, Justin, a U.S. Navy veteran, and his mother, Jennifer, cherished the busy days spent cheering him on from one game to the next.

Joel’s older brother, 20-year-old Jameson Noble, was more than just a sibling Joel’s sports buddy and biggest supporter.

The two shared a love for wrestling, golf, and baseball, forging a bond beyond brotherhood.

Their time together on the mat or the green was filled with laughter and mutual encouragement.

Devastated by the loss, Jameson honored his brother by making Joel’s childhood photo his , a silent tribute to their unbreakable connection.

Beyond sports, Joel lived life to the fullest by enjoying hunting and fishing with friends and family, and the thrill of the outdoors.

His vibrant spirit and warm smile left an impression on everyone he met.

The Noble family’s love for adventure and togetherness defined Joel’s life.
