Craig Connelly, a legendary figure in Santa Clara youth football, passed away in May 2026, leaving his family and well-wishers heartbroken.

His contributions as head coach to the Santa Clara Lions Youth Football & Cheer program have left a lasting impact.

He has also been associated with the Santa Clara Lions’ 12U Wildcats, where have left a lasting impact.

Craig Was An Outstanding Member Of Buchser High School’s Class Of 1967!

As a past president of the Santa Clara Lions Club, Craig played a pivotal role in fostering leadership and sportsmanship among young athletes.

Under his leadership, the Santa Clara Lions achieved remarkable success, securing 32 division championships and 38 league titles.

His dedication helped shape the program into in the nation.

Craig’s impact extended beyond the football field. His contributions to education and sports were further honored by being a member of the.

He believed that athletic competition builds character, enhances physical conditioning, and fosters emotional growth.
