The Snee Farm Swim Team and the broader Mount Pleasant community are grieving the loss of Megan Lowry, a cherished teammate, nurse, and friend, who passed away in July 2026.

The exact cause of her death has not been publicly disclosed, but her impact on those around her is unquestionable.

Megan had a lively personality, a strong drive to compete, and a caring nature. She made a powerful impact on everyone who knew her.

Megan Lowry was a beloved member of the Snee Farm Swim Team for a decade, graduating in 2012.

Known for her dedication and lively presence, she was a mentor to younger swimmers and a fierce competitor in the pool.

The Snee Farm Swim Team shared their heartbreak on Facebook, writing,

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Megan Lowry has died. A stalwart teammate, fun and lively spirit, and mentor to many younger swimmers, we will miss her.”

Megan grew up in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, as the middle child between her two brothers, Peter and Daniel, both of whom were also long-time members of the Snee Farm Swim Team.

Born to parents Tracy and Frank Lowry, the family shared a deep connection to the swim team, which became a second home for Megan and her brothers.

The Lowry family invited their Snee Farm community to join them in honoring Megan’s memory at a memorial service scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Stella Maris Church on Sullivan’s Island.

A luncheon will follow at their home, located at 909 Searle Court in Cooper Estates, Mount Pleasant, providing a space for loved ones to gather and celebrate Megan’s life.

Megan’s life was defined by her commitment to helping others, both in and out of the pool.

She attended Wando High School, where her work ethic shone in the classroom and during swim practices.

After graduating, she pursued her passion for healthcare at the University of South Carolina, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2016.

Her career as a registered nurse showed her caring nature.

She then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she continued her nursing career at Grady Health for another three years.

Since 2026, Megan has been a dedicated registered nurse at Emory Healthcare, where her kindness and professionalism have positively impacted the lives of countless individuals.

Megan’s Kindness And Welcoming Nature Had A Strong Impact On Her Community

Friends and teammates took to social media to share their memories and condolences, painting a picture of a woman who brought joy to everyone around her.

Jenn Gallagher, a friend and fellow community member, wrote,

“ was a joy on deck and went on to become an accomplished nurse. Prayers and peace to Tracy, Frank, Daniel & Peter as well as her many friends and teammates. 💚💛”
