South Albany High School Wrestler Isaac Nicholson, 16, Dies In Car Accident Leaving His Parents Shannon and Steve Nicholson Devastated!

A 16-year-old Isaac Nicholson, a senior of South Albany High School, passed away in a fatal car accident on June 8, 2026, at the intersection of Highway 20 and Independence Highway near Albany, Oregon.

Reportedly, he was driving a pickup truck that collided with a semi-truck around 6:30 a.m. The accident occurred in the early morning hours, and Isaac was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He was an active member of the South Albany High School wrestling team, competing in Oregon’s 5A division.

Sadly, the young wrestler’s life was cut short just 12 days before what would’ve been his 17th birthday on June 20, 2026.

Isaac Nicholson is survived by his parents, Shannon and Steve Nicholson, his girlfriend, Emily, and his elder sisters, Hailey, Hadlee, and Hayden Nicholson.

His mother, Shannon, honored her son’s memory by changing her cover photo to a childhood image of Isaac with his sisters. She also set a new profile picture featuring Isaac alone, a quiet and heartfelt tribute to the son she dearly loved.

Following the disclosure of the tragic news, social media flooded with words of condolences, eulogies, and tributes for Issac.

Moved by the outpouring of kindness, Shannon shared a heartfelt post, penning a lengthy caption that expressed how deeply touched their family was by everyone’s support. She wrote:

Thank you to those that have reached out in anyway, I’m trying to respond to everyone that I can just to show our gratitude.

She went on to share that instead of holding a traditional funeral, the Nicholson family plans to honor Isaac with a memorial gathering, something that Isaac would have liked.

On June 11, 2026, Shannon confirmed that they are holding the memorial on June 20, the day Isaac would have turned 17, before loved ones begin traveling for the Fourth of July.

Friday June 20th we will be having a memorial/celebration of life for Isaac, on his 17th bday.

While the Nicholson family continues to mourn the heartbreaking loss of their son and brother, Shannon expressed her distress in a recent post, frustrated by the appearance of a fake obituary circulating online.

She shared how upsetting it was to face such insensitivity during an already painful time for their family, saying:

Guys I hate that I have to post this but there is a fake obituary for Isaac going around. It’s basically a hacker website called Herald. Please flag and report it if you see it. Report Grim Reporter. If it is not something that’s directly from us and it is a third-party then it’s not us. We do not have any type of official obituary. We are doing it on our own and our own time.

Isaac Nicholson’s girlfriend, , honored his memory by posting a heartfelt photo captioned, “I love you forever and always,” on her Instagram story.

She’s since updated her bio to read “Live Like Isaac,” a quiet yet powerful reminder of his impact. Emily also has an entire highlight on Instagram named “<3” filled with cherished moments they shared.

Isaac’s sister paid tribute by updating her cover photo to a nostalgic picture of their childhood together.

Meanwhile, sisters and , a softball player at Chemeketa Storm Softball, created a special Instagram highlight titled “Bubba” filled with memories honoring their beloved brother.

In a beautiful show of support, Shannon’s workplace, The Barn at Hickory Station, extended heartfelt condolences following the devastating loss of her son.

Along with their kind words, they announced a generous gesture: they would be donating 100% of their in-store sales on Isaac’s memorial day to support Shannon and her family.

They wrote:

On Sunday evening one of our employees at The Barn experienced a life altering event.
We believe in giving back and always doing the right thing for the right reasons and this is a unique opportunity to help one of our own.
June 20th was her son’s day of birth.
On Friday June 20th, all day from open to close – We will donate 100% of our sales INSIDE The Barn to Shannon and her family to help them with whatever expenses they choose to put them towards.

Meanwhile, a campaign has been created to help his family, with a target of $15,000.

During this ordeal, we extend our sincere condolences to Isaac Nicholson’s parents, sisters, girlfriend, friends, and extended family.
