Nick Wright, an American sports television personality, sports podcaster, and former sports radio talk show host, and his longtime wife Danielle Byrd Wright have been each other’s constant supporters through all the good and bad times.
The Fox Sports 1 talk show First Things First co-host, Nick Wright, first met his wife, Danielle Byrd, a mother of two at the time, in 2007, when he was struggling with depression and addictions and in a very bad state of mind.
Furthermore, in an Instagram post in 2019, Nick Wright expressed his gratitude and love for his wife, recalling how Danielle and her two kids positively changed his life forever.
The post reads:
“12 years ago I was lost. Depressed, addicted, making bad choices. I had been so blessed in my life & I was doing my best to squander it all. Then I met Danielle, and amazingly she agreed to go on a date with me. On our very first date, she brought these two amazing kids. Little did I know that that moment & those kids would change my life, and along with their mom, they’d save my life. Those kids let me be their Dad. They let me adopt them. Damonza would let me coach him in hoops & Diorra would let me (try to) do her hair. Since then, we’ve added one more, Deanna, who has added even more love to a family already overflowing with it.”
After dating for six years, the couple decided to tie the knot on April 13, 2013, and have been happily married for 12 years.
Like Nick Wright, his wife Danielle Byrd is also excelling in her career as an entrepreneur and stylist.
She runs her Harlem-based boutique, , and also an online styling business, Freebyrdfresh, where she showcases her styling skills using garments from her boutique.
Additionally, she manages her husband, Nick’s, business and serves as his stylist.
Likewise, Nick and Danielle Wright are also proud parents of three amazing kids.
Nick Wright adopted Danielle Byrd’s two children from her previous marriage: son Damonza and daughter Diorra.
In October 2013, the couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Deanna.
Since then, Nick Wright and his wife Danielle have nurtured all three of their children in a supportive and joyful environment.
Nick Wright And Danielle Raised Their Kids To Thrive In Their Respective Career Fields
While their youngest and third child, Deanna, is just 11 and has yet to decide on her career, Nick Wright and his wife Danielle are proud parents of two successful children, Damonza and Diorra, who are pursuing careers in the entertainment field, just like their parents.
Although their youngest child, Deanna, is only 11 and still exploring her career options, they proudly support their two older children, Damonza and Diorra, who are building successful careers in the entertainment industry, following in their parents’ footsteps.
Diorra Byrd Wright, an alumna of Trevor Day School, is currently pursuing her studies in major theatre at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and is in 2027.
Diorra is also a New York-based actress, building her career in the field of acting.
Prior to that, Diorra showcased her amazing playing for the Trevor Day School Track & Field team.
In her senior year in 2026, she competed in the shot put event with a 4kg shot, and in the 2026 outdoor season, Diorra set a personal record of 20 8.25” in the shot put.
She also finished 3rd at the NYCAL Varsity Meet on April 20, 2026, with a throw of 18 6.5” and secured a 7th-place finish at the NYCAL Varsity Championships on May 16, 2026, with a personal best throw of 18′ 8”.
Talking about Nick and Danielle’s son Damonza, he followed in the footsteps of his father and co-hosts an American sports podcast and YouTube series, What’s Wright? with Nick Wright, with his father.
Nick Wright also guided his son, , in his basketball journey.
Damonza Byrd Wright is a former high school and college athlete who played as a guard at Kempner High School and the College of the Desert in California.
