Trevor Lee, a 14-year-old student-athlete at Fleming Island High School, was recently admitted to a heinous crime for killing his parents during a heated argument.

According to Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook, Trevor Lee walked to a nearby church to call 911 after midnight Monday to report that he “just killed his parents.”

Upon the call, the Clay County police found the lifeless bodies of Trevor Lee’s parents, David Lee, 44, and Brandi-Smith Lee, 45, from apparent gunshot wounds in their Middleburg home on Monday, August 4, 2026, morning.

Police found the firearm left at the scene, which is believed to be of Trevor’s parents, David and Bradi.

Cook said:

“It appears that there was some sort of domestic argument between Trevor Lee and his parents last night, and this shooting culminated from that argument.”

Furthermore, Trevor Lee told the dispatcher that he would wait at the church to be arrested, according to Sheriff Michelle Cook.

The 14-year-old football player Trevor Lee is now in custody and charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

Prior to the tragic incident, Trevor Lee was showcasing his amazing athletic skills playing at Fleming Island High School, Golden Eagles in Fleming Island, Florida. He was set to graduate in 2029.

Family and Loved Ones In Shock After Trevor Lee’s Alleged Heinous Act

Trevor Lee’s disturbing action of taking the lives of his parents, Brandi and David, has shocked the community.

His best friend since elementary school, Kyree Beamon, said that he didn’t initially believe that Trevor Lee could do anything like that.

Beamon expressed his sorrow and told News4JAX:

“They were probably the best, or one of the best families, I knew. They were funny, and they treated me very well. They told me all the time that they loved me like a son, and they treated me as such.”

Beamon further added that Trevor and he played on the same football team, and just a few days back, Trevor and his late dad, David, gave him a ride to and from practice.

He also said that Trevor Lee called him the day he killed his parents, although he didn’t say much, he told Beamon that he loved him and told him that he was just calling to tell him goodnight.

Beamon stated that he wasn’t sure if Lee called him before or after he called 911.

One of Brandi’s friends took to her Facebook to express her sorrow and wrote:

“Oh Brandi Smith-Lee💔💔💔Our friendship blossomed out of pure chaos, which truly made me treasure u.I can’t believe this shit mane. I love u, girl 🥺😔😢.”

Another added:

“IN PRAYER FOR Brandi Smith-Lee AND FAMILY… VERY HEARTBREAKING TO HEAR THIS NEWS. MAY THE LORD COMFORT ALL WHO ARE CONNECTED TO HER AND HER FAMILY.”

Similarly, some are also resharing Brandi’s post from 2019, where she wrote about her parenting experience while raising Trevor Lee, stating:

“This lil boy gives me pure hell. Everything I did to my parents, I’m getting it back times 10. Y’all keep us lifted up in prayer.”

However, despite several assumptions, Trevor Lee has yet to share his statement.

Brandi’s brother, Trevor Lee’s uncle Michael D. Smith, also took to his Facebook to express his sorrow at losing his beloved sister and brother-in-law.

“Please pray for my family as we go through this season of transition for my beautiful sister, Brandi Smith-Lee and her husband, David Lee. Their memories will forever be cherished in our hearts.”
