Patrick McPhee, a native of Georgia who was recently serving as the coach and director of Baseball at Valor Baseball Academy, passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2026, at an untimely age.
While the actual cause and details surrounding the untimely death of Patrick McPhee are not yet available, many of his loved ones are recalling his memories and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
Patrick McPhee, also popularly known as ‘Coach Pat’ and ‘Coach P,’ was recognized for his contributions to the baseball community, guiding thousands of young athletes in their sports journey and leading his team to several victories.
Just a few weeks prior to his untimely death, Patrick McPhee and his son Skylar, who serves as the head of player development and assistant coach at Valor Baseball Academy, began a new journey together, hand-selecting a team of 11 young players to coach for the 2026-2026 season.
Valor Baseball Academy took to its official social media to express the sorrow and pay tribute to coach Patrick McPhee. The post reads:
“It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the unexpected loss of Coach Patrick McPhee, the patriarch of our team. There are no adequate words to fully describe the loss we are feeling, especially his family and assistant coach, Skylar McPhee. Please keep Coach Pat’s family in your prayers, as well as these 11 young men who are still trying to process the loss of their coach, instructor, and friend.”
Patrick McPhee is survived by his longtime partner, Hali Thomason; former wife, Maggie Oliver; sons, Sklar, Caden, and Brody; daughter, Brooklyn; mother, Karen; and the entire family.
The Late Patrick McPhee Began His Baseball Journey At Marietta High School
Born in Marietta, Georgia, Patrick McPhee began his baseball journey from a very young age while attending Marietta High School.
He further continued his baseball career at Kennesaw State University, leading his team to several victories.
Patrick graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Business Administration and Management in 2008.
While from 2004 to 2008, as a mortgage loan officer of Heritage Lending LLC in Kennesaw, Georgia, he resumed his baseball career in 2013 as a baseball instructor after moving to Canton.
He served as the baseball and softball instructor at D-BAT Buckhead and Relentless Sports Academy, and as a coach, baseball and softball instructor, and facility manager at Canton Baseball before joining 6-4-3 DP Athletics.
Likewise, for years, the late Patrick served as the head baseball coach of the 6-4-3 DP Baseball Foundation and landed in his recent position as the director of baseball at Valor Baseball Academy.
Patrick McPhee’s remarkable contribution to the baseball community and his kind nature will always remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and loved ones.
