As news of the alleged accident spreads online, many of Koretsky’s supporters and loved ones are offering prayers for his speedy recovery. However, some believe the reports may be false.
Despite growing concern, there has been no official confirmation of the accident. Neither Kenny Koretsky’s family nor his close associates have released any statements regarding the rumors.
The NHRA, through its , briefly acknowledged that the former Top Fuel and Pro Stock racer, Kenny Koretsky, is currently battling medical issues. However, they did not provide any specific details about his condition.
Kenny Koretsky Survived A Serious Accident In 2005
On October 7, 2005, during a Pro Stock qualifying event at the 20th O’Reilly Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex near Dallas, Kenny Koretsky and Bruce Allen, both renowned divers in the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock class, were involved in a horrifying accident.
Former NHRA racer Bruce Allen and Kenny Koretsky collided during their qualifying pass, resulting in a fatal crash.
According , Allen lost control of his Reher-Morrison Pontiac Grand Am near the halfway mark on the track, causing the car to tip onto its side. It then veered into Koretsky’s lane, resulting in heavy contact with his Nitro Fish Wear Dodge Stratus, effectively splitting Allen’s car at the firewall.
Allen’s car exploded in a detonation of parts and pieces with the race car’s 500-cubic-inch engine skidding down the racing surface for hundreds of feet.
Despite the horrific crash, both Kenny Koretsky and Bruce Allen survived. While Bruce Allen sustained several minor hand injuries, Kenny Koretsky did not suffer any injuries.
Kenny Koretsky Is A Devoted Husband To His Longtime Wife, Karen, And A Proud Father Of Three Children
Koretsky has always lived a private life; despite being a renowned racer, he isn’t active on social media; however, he has passed his racing genes to his children.
Kenny Koretsky is a devoted husband to Karen Koretsky and a great father to their three children: sons Kenny Jr. and Kyle, and daughter Taylor Koretsky.
Like Kenny, his wife, Karen, and their children, Kenny Jr. and Taylor, also prefer to maintain a low profile.
However, his other son, , is following in his father’s footsteps in racing and serves as a driver for Lucas Oil Products, competing in Pro Stock and driving a Camaro. He is also a two-time Charlotte winner.
The Koretsky family, together, continues to carry on their racing legacy and has been successfully running Maple Grove Raceway together since 2026.
While much about Kenny’s wife, Karen Koretsky’s, professional life remains private, what is clear is the constant support she has shown her husband, Kenny Koretsky, throughout his career. Her strength and loyalty were especially evident in 2004, when she was courageously battling cancer.
Despite , Karen encouraged Kenny not to miss the 50th Anniversary Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis — one of the most prestigious events in the sport.
Though Kenny was prepared to stay by her side and sit the race out, it was Karen’s insistence that inspired him to compete. That decision led to a milestone in Kenny’s career, as he advanced to his first-ever final round at the U.S. Nationals, narrowly missing the title against Greg Anderson.
