A 17-year-old Whitney Point High School senior, Mason Armagno, took his last breath on May 27, 2026.

Thus far, intricate details surrounding the sudden demise of Mason Armagno remain unknown.

The Whitney Point High School and Broome-Tioga BOCES communities are grieving the sudden death of Mason Armagno.

Mason Armagno is survived by his parents, Ashley and Vincent Armagno, and three siblings.

As the eldest of four siblings, Mason was a role model to his younger brothers and sisters; his family and friends adored him.

Recently, Mason was thinking about his future, considering whether to attend college or pursue trade school after graduation.

He was exploring post-graduation options, expressing interest in colleges such as SUNY College of Technology at Alfred, SUNY Morrisville, and Butte College.

Neither of his parents, Ashley nor Vincent, has broken their silence about the tragic incident as they mourn the loss of their son in private.

, a cousin of Mason’s parents, started a campaign to help his family with funeral and memorial costs. He wrote:

No parent should have to bury their own son, let alone pay for this awful ordeal.

The GoFundMe campaign has collected USD 10,010 so far, aiming to reach a goal of USD 120,000.

Mason Armagno, a senior at Whitney Point High School in Whitney Point, New York, was a dedicated two-sport athlete who excelled in both baseball and football.

In baseball, as a member of the Whitney Point Varsity Baseball team, Mason wore jersey number 6 during the 2026 season.

Standing at 5’8″ and weighing 149 pounds, he contributed to a team that finished with a 4-10 record, including a 1-3 league standing, ranked 630th in the state.

In football, Mason was a standout wide receiver (WR) and cornerback (CB) for the Whitney Point Varsity Football team. He wore jersey number 16 across his sophomore, junior, and senior years (2026–2026).

His football career saw him play in seasons with team records of 2-7 in 2026 (state rank 495), 4-6 in 2026 (state rank 477), and 4-4 in 2026 (state rank 367).

Now that he isn’t anymore, the teammates, coaches, and the Whitney Point community are grieving his loss.

Reportedly, Armagno’s funeral services are scheduled to be held on June 2, 2026.
